Selviergard Heath and Sanitation Determine Vorpal Bunnies Hazardous
The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--Protesters today have shut down a Fighter Practice and instead started a protest over the recent decree of the Selviergard Health and Sanitation Department.
In what has been called a serious ruling from the Department, the first in over ten years, the famed Vorpal Bunnies have been declared hazardous to fighters and non-fighters alike.
"Vorpal rabbits have been proven to be deadly in the past, especially when affixed to the working ends of spears," one official told the Press. "We are only looking out for the safety and welfare of our Barony."
"We will not be ignored!" one of the protesters, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters.
"The Vorpal Bunnies deserve a second chance. I've been mauled by them three times and I'm still okay."
It is unknown if the protest will have any effect on the Health and Sanitation Department ruling which is scheduled to go into effect sometime next week. However, protesters have planned to continue to voice their displeasure for as long as necessary.

Selviergard Pas d'Armes: The Worthies
The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--The celebrants of the Spring Pas d'Armes, held amongst the majestic beauty of the lands of Selviergard, beheld many acts of chivalry, prowess, and nobility last weekend. I would like to take a moment to describe the event and chronicle a small portion of the deeds done last weekend. To expound on the chivalric virtues of each and every fighter, their Inspirations, and those who attended the event would take up many pages containing many large words; and as such, a simple missive will have to suffice for now.
Eleven fighters fought in the Pas d'Armes; a display of chivalry that awarded no prizes but showcased each combatants prowess and noble virtues to each other and the Gallery. The first part of the Pas had those armored gentles come forward and introduce themselves so that their names and reasons for attending the Pas were well known. From there, the fighters took time to challenge one another for the First Pass. From there, the Second Pass featured a grand melee combat in which the fighters used but a single knightly sword; a Pass that was both fun to watch and beautiful to behold.
After the grand melee, a barrier was erected in which teams of fighters performed knightly battle over; never stepping back from the barrier and using counted blows for a time.

Vikings Discover Japan!
The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--The weather was perfect for Selviergard's Vikings Discover Japan event, hosted by Mistress Rolynnda of the Azure Stone, at the end of the month of March. People came from both the Barony of Selviergard and the Barony of Eskalya to celebrate an event that never happened but would have been interesting if it did.
After a brief welcoming court, the fighting took place. Participants were split into two teams; those of the traveling Vikings and those of the Japanese. The fighters decided on how they would fight each other; one on one, mass melee, or any other combination. The group that won any of those battles added a bead to their count that would be latter tallied to find out which group; the Vikings or the Japanese, would win the day.

Turnips and Things
The Barony of Selviergard, The Principality of Oertha--The ghosts and goblins were mostly held at bay as Selviergard celebrated the time honored Samhein event held deep within the baronial borders. Guests from far and wide were invited to partake in a heavy combat tourney, a feast, and a myriad of different activities while safely sheltered in a warm hall and away from the cold of the coming winter months.
The Samhein Tourney proved Lord Beorn se Bacaire, the current Baroness' Champion, as the victor on the field that day. Lord Beorn, who fought with precision and skill on the field, was one of four fighters who attended the prize tourney; where all of the fighters fought with honor and chivalry that day. For winning the tourney, Lord Beorn received a set of beads and a promise of a true Norse word-fame story to be sent around the Principality, proclaiming his virtues on the battlefield (look for it in your next newsletter).
Additional contests included Heads in Any Mode and Root Carving. Many of the artisans decided to enter both competitions at the same time, and many turnips and a few rutabagas (even a potato) heads were on display for all to see the skilled craftsmanship of the populace at large. The winners of the competitions were Mistress Heleyne in the Heads in Any Mode for her bust of Emperor Constantine the Great, Mistress Rolynda who won the Root Carving competition for her elaborately carved turnip, and Rainna Fathirsdottir won the children's category for her turnip and candy head. Huzzah for all of the great artisans and skills that were displayed that day! Prizes of beads were also given out in token of the Autokratos' appreciation of the winners of the contests.
Feast consisted of amazing food brought by the participants of the event, and included healthy items amongst the not so healthy. The baronial Arts and Sciences Minister held a competition for the best Celtic Themed food and Mistress Alisa took the prize for her delicious Collcanon and received a cookbook to add to her collection.

Spring Offensive
The Barony of Selviergard, Principality of Oertha--The Barony of Selviergard invited all from the
lands of Oertha and the Knowne World to take part in a Pas d'Armes in the northern lands of the barony. The event was well attended and including amazing displays of pageantry and household pride. The Pas d'Armes, or a formalized tournament designed to show chivalry, grace, and honor, lasted for over three hours to the delight of both those watching the display and the fighters who took part in the Pas.
With banners unfurled to catch the gentle breeze, fighters marched into the field; ready to display their marshal prowess and knightly virtues on the field. Introductions were made from each fighter to each the other and to those who were to bear witness to their bouts. With the invocation made by the herald, the field was open to acts of great chivalry and skill.
After the Pas d’Armes, those in attendance were set to enjoy a brief court, in which the Baron and Baroness of Selviergard acknowledged the honor shown that day, and presented Crusious and Taren Arnfast with tokens, as the gallery of onlookers that day determined that they should be so
honored. Additionally, the Baron and Baroness presented several good gentles with invitations to join the Order of the Claymore for various services and marshal skills provided to the barony. In the final business before that court the Prince of Oertha also noted skilled individuals and offered two individuals with awards and great honor.
A feast was held, and much to the delight of those in attendance, the autocrat of the day’s event happened to find a local dancing troupe. The troupe performed exceedingly well, and danced the entire night away. Two types of bardic were enjoyed by all. Mistress Anne helped lead the way to many of the traditional songs of while Her Excellency E’tai’n held the kubb field against all challengers.
Sunday brought a relaxed tone to the event, with a short final court in which the Baron and Baroness thanked those who were able to make it to the Selviergard Pas d’Armes. Additional members of
the populace were invited to join the Order of the Claymore; and final court business was graced with gifts from the populace to both the baronage and His Highness.
The Pas d’Armes provided an opportunity for fighters to display their prowess and chivalric ideals to a populace that wished to see grand displays. In all, the event was quite successful, and talks of future events similar in design and style were discussed.
