Festive Selviergardian Yule

The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--The Barony of Selviergard kicked off the Oerthan Yule season with festive fighting, games, and warm camaraderie on the last day of the month of November. The event was attended by many people both from the Barony of Selviergard and from the Barony of Eskalya; a wonderful turnout! The event was warm, comfortable, and full of cheer as the Yuletide season was celebrated with excitement and fun activities.

After a brief court held by Baroness Étaín, the Festive Tournament was held. First, the participating fighters were decorated in the latest and greatest festive fashion with the populace deciding on the overall winner. Viscount Fergus Mac Thomais won the day with his stunning Christmas tree tabard with tree-shaped ermine spots along the bottom…very fashionable.

Selviergard Samhain Revel

The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--The Samhein season has always been about celebrating those souls that have gone one before us and remembering fondly the past…usually with a feast; oh and candy, lots of candy! The Barony of Selviergard celebrated the Samhain season in typical Selviergardian fashion; for the fun of it.

The revel, hosted by Viscountess Margarita di Calvi, was an entertaining celebration of the season; complete with food and camaraderie. While there were not enough fighters for the Tournament that was originally planned, the event instead focused on memories of the past and getting together as a group of friends.

Viscountess Margarita had a lot of old photos of not only the Barony of Selviergard but Oertha as well to show off. The photos, many of people that some of the newer folk have never seen before, was a great way to share the history of our group so that the past would always be remembered.

Baroness' Champion

The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--Cloudy with some rain; the event celebrating the choosing of a new Baroness' Champion was not the driest event in Selviergardian history, but it was definitely a fun event that will be remembered fondly by many people.

The event opened with the Court of Fathir and Étaín, who took the opportunity to have Court on the Bear Pit field when the sun broke out during the event. Four heavy fighters and three rapier fighters swore the Axe-Oath; declaring themselves ready for the tournament.

Selviergard's Ten Year Celebration

The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--A better day could not have been asked for, a greater group of people assembled, or a celebration more fun than Selviergard's Ten Year Celebration event; and event honoring ten years as a barony and a chance to welcome in the future the way Selviergardians know how…for the fun of it!

The event was visited by gentles from far and wide; from close at home in the lands of Selviergard to the lands of Eskalya, and even from the far off lands of Hrafnafjordr and Pavlok Gorod; all came to celebrate the occasion.

During the opening court, Baron Fathir and Baroness Étaín welcomed all to the celebration; among them the first Baron and Baroness of Selviergard, Fergus and Margarita. Their Highnesses were also in attendance, and they gleefully anticipated the day's activities.

It was during this, the opening court, that Their Highnesses decided to honor Viscountess Trava Zapadova with The Order of the Snowy Owl, an award given for excellence in the arts. Hakon Adulwolfeson was also honored with an Award of Arms for his hard work in the Shire of Hrafnafjordr.

After the opening court; the Tournament honoring the fabled White Stag commenced; offering more than a simple glimpse of heroism, chivalry, and prowess upon the field.

In days past, the White Stag was stalked by courageous hunters intent on capturing their noble prey. The Stag, though cleverness and honor, attained the promise of protection by the maidens of the Land from the hunters before entering the woods to be on his way. The Stag was spotted by the hunters and he quickly tried to evade the group, which vastly outnumbered him. Being eventually trapped at a point just outside the encampment, the Stag was spied by the maidens who ran to him and gave their protection to him as they had promised.

Selviergard celebrated the legend of the White Stag by holding a tournament that honored both the Stag and the hunters of days past.

Selviergard Heath and Sanitation Determine Vorpal Bunnies Hazardous

The Barony of Selviergard, Oertha--Protesters today have shut down a Fighter Practice and instead started a protest over the recent decree of the Selviergard Health and Sanitation Department.

In what has been called a serious ruling from the Department, the first in over ten years, the famed Vorpal Bunnies have been declared hazardous to fighters and non-fighters alike.

"Vorpal rabbits have been proven to be deadly in the past, especially when affixed to the working ends of spears," one official told the Press. "We are only looking out for the safety and welfare of our Barony."

"We will not be ignored!" one of the protesters, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters.

"The Vorpal Bunnies deserve a second chance. I've been mauled by them three times and I'm still okay."

It is unknown if the protest will have any effect on the Health and Sanitation Department ruling which is scheduled to go into effect sometime next week. However, protesters have planned to continue to voice their displeasure for as long as necessary.
