Yuletide Celebrations in Eskalya

The Barony of Eskalya, Oertha--The Barony of Eskalya hosted a Yule celebration in which there was plenty of merrymaking held in the warm hall. Tables were decorated for the season, colorful garb donned, and friends and family joined together to drive the cold winter away.

In addition to Baronial Arts and Sciences competitions, the Principality of Oertha's A&S Competition for Period Board Games also took place. There were many entrants to this competition representing many different games from the time period covered by the Society for Creative Anachronism. It was announced that Yamano Yuki-san of Selviergard took the prize for the day with her embroidered Fox and Geese board. Congratulations to all the wonderful entries in this marvelous endeavor and the continued support for all Arts and Sciences in the Principality of Oertha.

The Argent Oliphant gift exchange and Ambrosia contest, seasonal favorites within the Barony of Eskalya, also took place much to the delight of all. Gifts were exchanged with little to no bloodshed and desserts were sampled with much delight. Feast was a wonderful affair that brought out many delicacies of meats, vegetables, and desserts enough to satisfy even the most picky of eaters (or the most hungry in most cases). Those attending Feast were regaled with a story from Lord Sevastian Agafangelovich Golystin with a very important moral to be heard by all this holiday season.

Court included the giving of gifts and the elevation of a new officer for the Barony. Her Excellency received a series of gifts from Baron Halfdan of Selviergard, most notably with a central theme as noted by Her Excellency with amusement.

The Yuletide greetings having been bestowed upon each the other the celebrants of the day's event travelled back to their wintry homes in anticipation of more events and the upcoming Solstice; where the days would get brighter and warmer in imitation of the Yule in the Barony of Eskalya.
