Fair Fun at Three Baron’s Renaissance Fair

The Barony of Eskalya, Oertha--The annual Three Baron’s Renaissance Fair once again took place in the lands of the Barony of Eskalya.  Held the first two full weekends of June; this activity is a wonderful opportunity for members of the Society for Creative Anachronism to spend the time showcasing what the Society is all about—friendship, arts and sciences, and of course, fighting as well.

The most popular areas of interest this year, besides the combat held in the adjacent field, seem to have been the helm and armor display run by Viscount Sir Kenric Maur and Lord Sevastian Agafangilovitch Golytsin, the Medieval food display run by Baroness Clare Elena of Eskalya, and the Chainmail Workshop run by Mistress Étaín O'Rowarke and Lady Rainna Fathirsdottir.  The Calligraphy station, run by Baroness Cynehild of Eskalya and Lord Kolskeggr Ungi, and the Kubb field on the second Saturday demonstrated by multiple members of the populace were also quite popular.

There were many people thanked by the Baronesses of Eskalya and the Prince and Princess of Oertha for attending the demonstration.  Many of those who came to the Three Baron’s Renaissance Fair took the opportunity to bring interesting projects to work on as well, don armor to fight in the two demonstrations that took place every day, or to simply answer the multitudes of questions from those interested in our group.  The mix of different things to witness and the well-informed persons answering the questions was quite a sight to behold.

With the Three Baron’s Renaissance Fair now at a close for the year we look forward to the time that those with a passion for exploring the Renaissance and Middle Ages can meet us again and join us in the Current Middle Ages.
